C’est en effet ce que vient de découvrir le site Neowin en bidouillant quelque peu le lien de téléchargement qui devait mener (à l’origine) à une version Windows. En remontant dans l’arborescence, un dossier MacOS daté du 7 Octobre a été créé et contient une version bêta du lecteur multimédia Winamp pour MacOS X numérotée 0.7.1.27.
On peut rappeler que Winamp a été créé il y a des années sur Windows, il s’est enrichi de nombreuses fonctions avec le temps et c’est apparemment ce que les développeurs du logiciel veulent faire profiter sur le plateforme Mac pour contrecarrer la suprématie iTunes. Proposer un lecteur multimédia qui lit une multitudes de fichiers audio et vidéos, propose du streaming radio avec Shoutcast, des podcasts, des liens vers des plateformes légaux et surtout la personnalisation de l’interface avec des skins et des plug-ins.
Naturellement, aucune information sur une possible date de sortie n’a été retranscrit sur le site de l’éditeur.

Nouvelle version pour le lecteur multimédia ultra-connu que l’on a même plus besoin de présenter qui arrive donc en version 5.60 avec 3 nouveautés principales dont le support Wi-Fi d’Android, le support direct de la molette de souris (et oui !) et la possibilité d’intégrer directement les notations dans les tags ID3 pour les fichiers MP3/OGG/WMA/WMV et FLAC.
Winamp 5.60 améliore également la façon dont la liste des périphériques branchés à l’ordinateur est présentée et fixe l’exploit DLL des anciennes applications Windows ainsi qu’une fuite de mémoire dans le codec LameMP3.

Une mise à jour mineure du lecteur multimédia Winamp vient de paraitre en version 5.581, elle est destinée à résoudre quelques problèmes de performance de la précédente version, à résoudre quelques bugs mineurs et de mettre à jour certains packs de langues.

Et bien la voilà, la version dont le changelog a été dévoilé avant l’heure dans une build de la version 5.572. Ainsi c’est en ce 29 Juin que l’équipe de développeurs de chez AOL sort une nouvelle version, la 5.58, avec certes peu de changements, mais quelques nouveautés bien pratique quand même !
Par exemple, une nouveau gestionnaire de thème fait son apparition, il permet de choisir, prévisualiser le thème que l’on souhaite appliquer. Ou encore, l’Album Art Viewer Plugin 1.7 qui permet d’afficher une fenêtre affichant la pochette de l’album en cours de lecture sur les skins classiques. Pour terminer, un but a été atteint par les développeurs, la possibilité de traduire des packs de plugin.
