Début Octobre, une rumeur avait circulé sur le fait que Microsoft serait en train de travailler sur une intégration d’un support des processeurs 128 bits sur le prochain Windows ayant pour nom de code « Windows 8″. Rumeur étant parti d’un profil LinkedIn d’un certain M. Robert Morgan que le rédacteur du site MSFTKitchen avait trouvé. Et tout était parti de ces 3 statuts du Monsieur Robert :

Robert Morgan is working to get IA-128 working backwards with full binary compatibility on the existing IA-64 instructions in the hardware simulation to work for Windows 8 and definitely Windows 9.”

“Robert Morgan is using Hestia (custom software package) for experimenting with the processor for scientific analysis and 3D graphics. Error: Memory Latency? Always gotta be a challenge barrier, it’s gotta be a bug in Hestia. right?!”

“Robert Morgan is frustrated with process standards and regulations! Delays Delays!”

Superbe nouvelle ! :D , mais en réalité, plusieurs choses clochaient là-dedans… à commencer par le profil du Monsieur Robert Morgan :

Puis la réponse est venu de deux commentaires de personnes très connues dans le monde du oueb, pour conserver leur anonymat, on les appellera Paul Thurrott et Steven Bink.

Le premier des deux commente cette actualité sur ton amusé :

Wow. I have to admit, the most amazing thing about this rumor is that anyone believed it. I won’t single anyone out, but spare me. It’s completely and utterly bogus. Obviously.

En français (pour les anglophobes), P.T nous dis que ce qu’il y a de plus marrant dans cette histoire est que tout le monde a cru à cette rumeur. Mais naturellement, elle est complètement fausse.

La 2ème personne en rajoute et nous révèle le fin mot de l’histoire :

Sorry but this is BS so to say. We are still in the transition to 64bit, That Morgan guy does not exits at MS

Traduit en français : « Désolé mais tout ça ce n’est que de la merde pour dire. Nous sommes actuellement encore en transition vers le 64 bits, Ce « Morgan » n’existe pas chez Microsoft. »

Résultat, beaucoup de bruit pour rien… Encore un internaute qui voulait de la notoriété.
