Chrome est une sorte d'OVNI développé par Google qui est apparu en septembre 2008. L'idée de base de ses développeurs étaient de faire un navigateur léger basé sur un moteur open-source alias Webkit.
Et le résultat fonctionne très bien puisqu'après une bonne dizaine d'années et quelques partenariats (Chrome est proposé en installation optionnelle avec certains logiciels sous Windows), le navigateur est toujours à la 1ère place devant Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge et Safari.
A noter que depuis la version 94.0, le navigateur adopte un cycle de sortie ramené à 4 semaines au lieu de 6 semaines…
