Oracle VM VirtualBox 4.0.2

Un peu moins d'un mois après la sortie de la version 4.0, le virtualisateur de systèmes d'exploitation VirtualBox d'Oracle se voit gratifié d'une petite mise à jour afin de corriger les petites erreurs de jeunesse dû à l'apparition des nouvelles fonctions. Et bien il n'en est rien d'après ce que l'on peut voir sur le changelog de cette version 4.0.2. En effet, c'est n'est que de simple bugs de longue date qui ont été corrigés sauf deux-trois concernant l'interface graphique et l'export OVF.

Voici le changelog:

Et voilà une toute nouvelle version pour le virtualisateur de systèmes d'exploitation d'Oracle alias Virtualbox qui arrive dans une version majeure... la 4.0.

Au sommaire des nouveautés de cette version on pourra noter la réorganisation complète du logiciel. Tout d'abord, le logiciel principal s'appelle Virtualbox Manager et n'offre plus par défaut le support des ports USB 2.0, pour cela il faut télécharger (gratuitement) l'Extension Pack qui ajoute donc le support des ports USB 2.0, du RDP et du boot PXE pour les cartes Intel.

Changement également au niveau l'interface du logiciel qui affiche désormais une miniature du système d'exploitation en cours de fonctionnement, la possibilité de créer un raccourci .vbox pour pouvoir démarrer directement une machine virtuelle en double-cliquant sur son icône, la liste des systèmes d'exploitation peut être triée et la suppression de celles-ci ne laisse plus aucune trace sur le disque dur (suppression des disques et images)

Virtualbox peut maintenant gérer 1,5 à 2 Go de RAM sur les machines 32bits, inclus de nouvelles référence de matériel virtuels, améliore l'exportation vers les fichiers OVF et permet de contrôler l'utilisation des ressources utilisées par la machine virtuelle (processeurs, lecture/écriture disque dur) sans oublier naturellement toutes les corrections de bugs qui sont naturellement listés dans le changelog complet ci-dessous :

Après presque deux mois d'intense recherche, voici qu'une nouvelle version du virtualisateur de systèmes d'exploitation d'Oracle fait son arrivée. Avec cette version 3.2.12 qui se focalise sur l’amélioration de performances notamment afin de prévenir les risques de ralentissements pour les processeurs possédants les instructions de virtualisation matérielles en mettant en oeuvre la gestion d'une nouvelle instruction évitant ce désagrément.

Sur Linux, c'est la compilation en dure qui se fera pour le driver graphique vboxvideo si DKMS n'est pas installé. Le reste des changements est disponible ci-dessous :

[Officiel] Mozilla Firefox 4.0 Bêta 7

Et la voilà, la bêta 7 est maintenant disponible après 4 jours de tests. Pour ceux qui se sont intéressés aux RCs de cette bêta, rien de ne change. Par contre, pour ceux ayant attendu l'arrivée de la version finale de la bêta 7, ils doivent s'attendre à quelques changements :

Voici d'ailleurs le changelog :

  • Utilise JägerMonkey, un nouveau moteur javascript rapide
  • WebGL est activé par défaut sur Windows et Mac OS X. WebGL requiert une carte graphique OpenGL. Le support pour les autres cartes graphiques sur Windows (specifiquement les GPUs Intel) et Linux viendra dans les futures bêtas.
  • Certaines opérations de rendu sont maintenant matériellement accélérées utilisant Direct3D 9 sur Windows XP, Direct3D 10 sur Windows Vista and 7, et OpenGL on Mac OS X
  • Amélioration de la typographie sur internet en utilisant OpenType.
  • HTML5 Forms API rend les formulaires internet plus facile à implanter et à valider

OpenOffice 3.3 passe en RC1, et LibreOffice ?

S'il y avait un rapprochement assez lointain que l'on pourrait faire entre ces deux logiciels, ce serait avec les deux élections de Miss France. En effet, OpenOffice est à Endemol ce que LibreOffice serait à Fontenay (super la comparaison vous allez me dire) car l'un est toujours plus en avance que l'autre.

C'est ainsi qu'OpenOffice (la version maintenue par Oracle) vient de passer en version 3.3 RC1 passant devant le statut de Bêta 2 de l'actuelle LibreOffice 3.3. Quelles différences ? l'un a moins de bugs que l'autre, sinon le reste est identique... à part les codes stylistiques des logiciels.

Seule chose que l'on pourrait féliciter, c'est la disponibilité de toutes les langues en même temps que la version anglaise, alors qu'auparavant il fallait attendre 1 à 2 semaines.

Oracle VM Virtualbox 3.2.10

2 mois après son prédécesseur, voici qu'Oracle nous offre gracieusement une nouvelle version du virtualisateur de système d'exploitation Virtualbox dans sa version 3.2.10 (pas encore de branche 3.3 à venir pour le moment).

Cette nouvelle version arrive avec une flopée de corrections de bugs dont celui du mode V8086 pour les DOS/Win9x qui a été introduit sur la version 3.2.8. Les performances pour les machines virtuelles de plus de 2Go de RAM ont été améliorées, le support du kernel 2.6.36 a été ajouté, la gestion de la 3D a été corrigé lorsqu'on passait au mode Seamless et les performances des applications OpenGL 32bits a été corrigé sous les systèmes Windows 64bits invités.

Adobe lance le Flash en 64bits natif… en bêta

C'est une surprise, et quelle surprise. Adobe a lancé via son site laboratoire, une version de test de Flash Player baptisé "Square" ayant pour principale nouveauté d'être disponible en 64bits natif pour Windows, MacOS X et Linux.

Flash "Square" a aussi pour autre nouveauté de s'intégrer à Internet Explorer 9 bêta et utilise l'accélération matérielle par la carte graphique pour booster ses performances...

Flash Player "Square" est aussi disponible en 32bits.

Mozilla Firefox 4.0 Bêta 6

Nouvelle bêta dans le développement de la future version 4.0 du navigateur internet Firefox, mais bêta pas comme les autres. En effet, au lieu d'avoir une bêta avec de franches nouveautés, cette bêta 6 (décidée il y a à peine 3 jours) est plus concrètement une bêta 5 + des corrections de bugs car le développement actuellement ne rencontrait pas les critères de qualités pour une appellation "bêta". Il y aura donc une bêta 7 dans un futur très proche.

Cette bêta 6 corrige donc un bug de stabilité sur la version Windows ainsi qu'un bug de rendu sur MacOS X.

Une 5ème version bêta (et ce n'est pas la dernière) de la prochaine version 4.0 du navigateur internet de Mozilla, alias Firefox, vient de paraître il y a quelques instants sur les serveurs de téléchargement. Cette 5ème mouture se focalise essentiellement sur les bugs rencontrés avec les nouveautés implantées dans la précédente bêta (Firefox Sync et Panorama). Mais ce n'est pas tout car les développeurs se sont aussi attardés sur l'accélération matérielle du navigateur, améliorant ainsi la vitesse d’exécution de Direct2D. Le moteur Javascript Tracemonkey s'améliore également en attendant la venue de JaegerMonkey.

Astuce : Si pour vous, le rendu des polices est flou et vous dérange, il est possible de désactiver le rendu Direct2D (attention, une baisse de performance est à attendre si désactivé) en attendant mieux.

Voici la marche à suivre :

  1. Tapez about:config dans la barre d'adresse puis validez
  2. Dans le champ de recherche, tapez 'widget'
  3. Modifiez la préférence mozilla.widget.render-mode pour lui donner '0' comme valeur
  4. Redémarrez le navigateur

Pour réactiver Direct2D, faire un clic droit sur la valeur ci-dessus puis Réinitialiser

Une nouvelle version du lecteur multimédia basé sur le moteur Gecko (le même que celui de Firefox 3.5) est sorti il y a quelques jours apportant quelques petites nouveautés au niveau de l'interface, améliore la synchronisation sur MacOS X et supporte désormais nativement les smartphones suivants :
